Matthew Bargo
DVM, Veterinarian/Owner
I grew up in a small town in Southeastern KY much like Boaz. I attended EKU for my undergraduate degree, UK for my master’s, and AUBURN for my veterinary education. I purchased B and A in the summer of 2011 from Dr. Martin and began working here full-time in 2013.
Andrew Tucker
DVM, Veterinarian
Dr. Andrew Tucker is a native of Carthage, MS. After graduating from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, he attended veterinary school at Mississippi State University. Dr. Tucker joined the staff at B and A Animal Hospital in May 2017. His interests include large animal reproduction, preventative medicine, and small animal medicine and surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Tucker enjoys the outdoors (specifically deep sea fishing), softball, watching college sports, raising cattle, and spending time with family.
Our Staff
Amanda
Amanda has been working in Veterinary medicine since 2006 and is a graduate of Jefferson State Community College. She has an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and is English/Spanish bilingual. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her son and animals.
Jana
Jana’s love of animals has kept her working here in the veterinary field since 2013. She has two sons, Bailey and Warren. They live in Asbury, AL.
April
April and her husband have lived in Boaz AL since 1999. Together they have 3 children and one grandchild. April is new to the Veterinary field but has always had a strong love for animals and has had several rescues at home.
Savanah
Savanah is a native of Boaz and currently lives in Oxford. She is enrolled in the Penn Foster Vet Tech program and hopes to become licensed soon. She has worked various jobs in the Veterinary field in the last few years. She loves animals and has two large dogs of her own.
Zoe
Zoe has lived in the Boaz area for the last 8 years. She has worked with animals the entirety of her life but is looking forward to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She has an array of pets at home that she cares for and loves.
Alexanne
Alex has worked various animal care jobs her whole life, from farm work to in clinic settings. In her free time she enjoys fishing, tending to her farm animals, and spending time with her family.
